4th Annual St. Baldrick’s Shave the Date

The Color Bar Salon partnered up with St Baldricks & holds an annual event to raise money towards childhood cancer. We have all known or lost someone affected by cancer but here are the realities of childhood cancer:

-Worldwide, 400,000 children are diagnosed each year & in the US more children die of cancer than any other disease

-Worldwide, a child is diagnosed every 2 minutes

-The National Cancer Institute has nearly doubled its investment in childhood cancer research in recent years due to greater advocacy & awareness, but more research funding is needed to develop new safe therapies for kids either cancer.

Ways St Baldricks try to make an impact:

-Baldricks works closely with pediatric oncologists & provides hospitals the funds for high impact clinical trials for rare disease types & increasing the likelihood for a child to receive the best treatment plan in a hospital.
